The significance of North America for Degussa is clearly reflected by the following figures: 120 locations, 13% of Degussa's workforce and a sales volume of EUR 2.4 billion, representing a 20% share of total sales.

North America is one of the key markets for AEROSIL^® products. Thanks to the commissioning of the new production facilities at the Mobile, Alabama location, the worldwide production capacity for the AERODISP^® product line was doubled. With regard to methacrylate activities, following the acquisition of CYRO Industries, Rockaway, NJ, Degussa continues to ramp up its production capacities for methyl methacrylate monomer (MMA) and methacrylic acid.
