Investment in end-of-pipe technologies were unchanged at € 33 million. Investments in integrated work protection fell by 12%, taking the figure from EUR 25 million in 2004 to EUR 22 million in 2005. Spending on production-integrated techniques is a measure of the extent to which production-integrated techniques are able to replace downstream end-of-pipe technologies. We therefore invested a total of EUR 55 million in protective measures and environmental protection in 2005.
