Specific Environmental Indicators
The development of the specific environmental data relative to output show a pleasing trend: Over the past five years, there has been a clear reduction in the link between growth, consumption of resources and environmental impact. The specific data were also lower than in 2004. The only exception here comprises specific emissions into the air (excluding CO2 and CO), which rose, mainly because of higher sulfur dioxide emissions (see Statistics, page 28). In addition to the aggregate data for the Group reported here, plant-specific data are available in the SuRe system, reflecting the reporting structure. This allows efficient internal benchmarking, an evaluation of ESHQ performance and intensive sustainability checks. Moreover, all analyses can be performed on the basis of either company structures or management structures.
